2008 Corvette Dyno'd, Power Proven

Anyone watching for evidence of the 2008 Corvette LS3's ascension over its predecessor can thank the crew at Lou Gigliotti's LG Motorsports. They dropped a spanking-new '08 on the dyno and took what could be the first rating of the latest 'Vette to hit the wires. We'd heard tell of 435 horsepower at the crankshaft, and Lou's boys calculated the translation to the rear wheels as 388 — courtesy of its L92 heads and intake. According to Chris at Corvette Masters of Maitland Florida, that number is about dead on, considering a base C6 dynos at between 330 and 340 rwhp. Of course, in LG's racing trim, including longtube headers and some manner of tune, the finished product is 423 rwhp. What a show-off.
