Radwood Philadelphia Was A Rad Time For All

This Sunday at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, Radwood once again proved that it’s grown beyond just a dope car show for fans of teal and splash graphics. It’s now a movement, a true staple in car culture. And you made it happen.

We heard around 600 cars turned out for the northeast’s inaugural ’80s and ’90s car appreciation event, plus many more spectators. I believe it. I went to the Los Angeles show last year and this was even bigger—and in some ways even better. There was pizza! Beer! Rad music! People in Akira costumes! Awards!

There were wagons and imports and Ferraris with side vents. There were rotary engines and bizarre Chrysler-Mitsubishi tie-ups. There was a prototype DeLorean and a Koenig Mercedes. The folks from Subaru even hauled some of their wedge-shaped GT cars out of the vault.

Overall, the event was a blast, and we’re grateful to the Radwood organizers for making it happen so well. Jalopnik is proud to be a part of it all. If you were there, thanks for coming out! If not, we hope to see you next time—and there will be a next time.

We’ll have a lot more from the show this week, including tons of photos and even some videos. For now, enjoy the stuff that made it to the ‘Gram.
