My ideal race is a drag race, and with none of the nonsense about classes, just bring any vehicle and let’s have it out. So this race, between a Kawasaki Ninja H2R, a modified Tesla Model S, a Lotus Evora GT430, an Aston Martin Vantage, a Formula One car, a fuckin’ fighter jet, and some other plane, comes close. Just needs a boat, scooter, spaceship, and, perhaps, a sprinter on foot.
This all went down in Istanbul, Turkey, last week, at something called Teknofest, according to Daily Sabah. The Kawasaki won by 0.04 seconds, with the F1 car in second place in the quarter-mile race. Kenan Sofuoğlu, five-time Supersport World Championship winner, rode the bike, which completed the quarter mile in 9.43 seconds.
Teknofest “aims to promote and showcase Turkey’s rapid advances in technology,” according to Daily Sabah, which, I’m down with any excuse for a cool drag race. And it also sounds so good.
