Car accidents suck for everyone, but they happen. Hopefully your first one wasn’t too serious and you weren’t hurt. Tell us about it.
Predictably, mine happened in the high school parking lot. Well, I don’t count the technically first one, which was just someone scraping my bumper because they didn’t know how to properly pull into a spot yet.
No, the actual accident happened during the morning rush hour. A line of us were filing into the senior parking lot, parking in our assigned spaces. My space was on the left, so I put on my blinker, braked and started to turn into the spot. And then there was an impact from the side. The kid behind me had “looked down for just a second” and crashed right into my left rear quarter-panel.
We got out to inspect the damage. The front of his car was a little banged up, but my back wheel was bent inwards. It looked like the axle had been damaged for sure.
The police showed up and took both of our statements. My car had to be towed to the shop. Thankfully nobody was hurt at all. I guess accidents really do tend to happen more often in parking lots.
Now it’s your turn!
