It’s a beautiful day here in Manhattan, Memorial Day is right around the corner and I’ve got a shiny 2018 BMW M240i Coupe to kick off this happy time with. What do you want to know about it?

The M240i replaces the M235i and enjoys a slight power bump, now up to 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. This all comes from a fantastically raspy, turbocharged, 3.0-liter straight-six engine, mated to an eight-speed automatic.

I’m already a huge fan of the car, despite only have driven it from BMW’s garage on the West Side to the Jalopnik office a mile and a half away. It handles the city beautifully, the steering tight and responsive and power immediately on tap to help with scooting around double-parked delivery vans and taxis.

It’s not a particularly large car, either, and it feels very similar in size and power to my 2002 Mercedes C-Class sedan. Getting into it is like slipping into a familiar pair of favorite jeans, only they’re brand new this time around.

The car’s Monroney sticker has it at $49,245 because it has options like heated front seats and a navigation system. That’s about it.
