Roundabouts are brilliant bits of traffic engineering that keeps everything moving smoothly, and for that, they’re pretty great. But they have potential for so much more. They don’t just permit traffic to move at greater speed, with better safety, than a stoplight, but with more smoke and more noise. Like so.
Now, I am definitely NOT saying you should do this. All spirited and enthusiastic driving should take place on tracks, in accordance with local laws. I’m JUST SAYING, roundabouts are shaped like this:
Americans would always moan about Top Gear, saying that Clarkson’s smoky drifts were great TV and all, but where can you actually do a smoky drift yourself?
