The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk makes 707 horsepower thanks to its Hellcat motor. The Tesla Model X gets 259 hp from its front motor and 501 hp from its rear motor, both electric of course. Who wins on the track? The Model X, of course.
Our electric future is going to feature a lot of cars that accelerate very, very fast, since electrics produce maximum torque immediately, as opposed to gasoline engines. They produce so much torque, in fact, that we’re probably already exploring the limits of how quickly rubber tires can get a car moving period. This video, from DragTimes shows that acceleration hard at work. The Trackhawk is beaten here, and pretty handily at that.
Don’t resist the future. The future is very, very fast.
