PUBLIC’S HELP SOUGHT IN FATAL EAST BROOKFIELD HIT-AND-RUN

The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit for Worcester County and the East Brookfield Police Department continue to investigate a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on Sunday evening, October 29, 2017, on Route 9 in East Brookfield. A pedestrian was struck and killed by a passing vehicle that was traveling west on Route 9. Investigators are asking for anyone who witnessed the crash, stopped to assist, or just was traveling on Route 9 through East Brookfield at approximately 6 p.m. to contact State Police at 508-867-1170. Investigators also request that anyone who may be able to identify the vehicle shown in the above photographs also contact State Police at that number. Thank you.

Some of the comments on the Facebook page suggested a 2004-2006 Toyota Camry, a 2000 Honda Accord Coupe, or an older two-door Mercedes.

My first instinct was also some sort of Mercedes. The distinct window shape could be from a W126 coupe, W140, or 300ce. It also looks like it has the older style AMG wheels fitted, but it’s difficult to be confident due to the motion blur.

If you have any other clues that may help identify this vehicle, please let the Massachusetts State Police know by dialing the number provided. We’ve solved mysteries like these before and I believe we can do it again.
