As somebody that frequently suffers from friends and family that granny shift their manual cars for “fuel economy” or whatever, I’ve come to really appreciate riding the gears and revving until the engine is screaming at me.
So you’ll understand if I enjoy this list of some of the highest revving engines of all time (in production cars) from Car Throttle:
And boy, is it a good list. We’ve got the Audi R8 V10 Plus, the Honda Integra Type R, of course the Honda S2000, Honda S600, the Ferrari LaFerrari, Suzuki Cappuccino, JDM spec Mazda RX8 Type S, the glorious-sounding Lexus LFA, the beautiful Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, and the Ariel Atom V8 500.
Of course the motorcycle world has cars beat, and I’m sure there are plenty more left off this list, but this is a good start. Especially if it’s just another excuse to hear the Lexus LFA again.
