Montreal-based Scaldarsi Motors took a Mercedes Maybach S600 and gaudified the crap out of it with gold, wood, leather, and other bits of supreme ostentatiousness. Hide your children, because this thing looks frightening.
Scaldarsi has taken a Mercedes S600 with an 888 horsepower twin-turbo 6.2-liter V12 Brabus Rocket 900 powertrain, and turned it into the automotive equivalent of that Jibbs song about low-hanging chains. At least it isn’t slow?
Just look at those wheels. They look like liquid black holes sprinkled in gold—I’m honestly not even sure what’s going on there. And then just look at that massive jewelry-covered grille.
Oh, but that’s nothing compared to the interior, which can be had with a dozen different kinds of leather in 24 different colors, along with 78 different interior wood trims.
Autoblog says the Scaldarsi S600, called the Emperor I, will cost $1.5 million, and that 10 are expected to be built in total. Whether the final products will look like they do in these photos (which look very much like renderings), I don’t know. Whether anybody will actually buy these things is also a question to which I do not have the answer.
All I know is, if I were buying one of these things, I’d get the bright purple one. Because, honestly, this car is all about making people look at you and think “That guy is not only wealthier, but also just a better human than I could ever hope to be.” Yes, definitely get the purple one:
