I like the new Honda Civic. It feels big enough that it could almost be an Accord, but its combination of value and fun make it a real return to form for Honda. Only one problem—the sedan and coupe look like hatchbacks, but they are not. Until now! From our friends at the CivicX forums, here is your new Civic hatch.

You can find more pictures at the link, but that is definitely a Civic. With a hatchback! Not the trunk, like the current cars have.

Granted, with five doors and a lot more beef than we’re used to, it’s a far cry from the tiny but utilitarian Civic hatches of the 1980s through the early 2000s. And it will inevitably get compared to the Accord Crosstour, which is unfortunate.

But it means Civic buyers will get a nice dose of utility, and a solid competitor to the Mazda 3 hatchback, the segment’s reigning king.

Bring on the Si and Type-R versions, please.
