Jaguar F-Type SVR: This Is It In All Its 575 Horsepower Glory

A lot of things have run through my mind when I’ve driven the Jaguar F-Type R. “This thing desperately needs more horsepower” has never been one of them. But we are in the age of overkill, and our beloved F-Type is about to get a heavy dose of just that. Meet the insane F-Type SVR.

SVR is, of course, Jaguar Land Rover’s nascent performance division, most notable so far for producing the ear-shattering, Nürburgring-tuned Range Rover Sport SVR. Now the tuners turn their eyes to Jag’s sports car, and the result is a 575 horsepower land missile. Good lord.

What appear to be brochure pics and some details trickled out today on Autoblog.nl, Autovisie.nl and other Dutch car sites. The SVR F-Type has a supercharged V8, all-wheel drive, and will apparently do the zero to 60 mph (0-100 km/h) dash in about 3.7 seconds. Top speed is rated at 200 mph, if you’re brave enough. Sadly, the manual remains V6 only; the SVR puts in work with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can have your SVR with a roof or without one.

Other tweaks include optional ceramic brakes, a lighter titanium exhaust, a race-tuned suspension, visual tweaks, MOAR NOISE and did I also mention MOAR POWER.

Anyway, this thing looks completely bonkers. More details as we get them.
