After surviving a rollover wreck while traveling on a Long Island, New York highway early on Sunday, a woman crossed the street to check on her car when another driver struck and killed her. A state trooper later arrived at the scene, and yet another driver hit his car from behind.

NBC New York reports that original incident saw the woman climb from her overturned vehicle and walk to the shoulder of the road, and the driver who hit her on the return trip to her car also struck her vehicle. According to police, the woman died at the scene and her name has not been released at the time.
The state trooper was OK following the incident, according to police. The incidents involved four vehicles in total, and the condition of the drivers who hit the both the woman and the trooper’s car are unknown.
Lanes nearby the scene closed down on Sunday morning, and an investigation of the accident is still underway.
