Rumor has it that Lamborghini will debut the rear-wheel drive version of the Huracan at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but the LP 610-4 is also getting upgrades for next year. Like better fuel economy, and cupholders!
Great news everybody! The Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4’s base price in Europe will stay at 169.500 Euros + taxes for the 2016 model year. What’s more, both the Coupe and the Spyder will get cylinder deactivation as standard, something your neighbor’s Corvette had since 2013. Still, it’s the return of the Audi five-cylinder you’ve been all waiting for, sort of.
The Lambo people also fine-tuned the all-wheel drive system to make the Huracan drive smoother in Strada mode, and added a travel package to further improve its road car credentials, which includes storage nets front and rear, an additional 12V lighter and cupholders. Cupholders!
We don’t have images of these much-welcome additions just yet, but the cupholders in a Porsche 911 GT3 RS look like this:
Imagine your Big Gulp in one of thoe and you’re all set.
Your 2016 Huracan can also be much fancier than your 2015 Huracan was. There are numerous new interior colors to choose from, and from now on, Lamborghini will wrap your door handles and the upper part of the central console in the fines leathers as well. The air vents get a matt black finish for 2016, but if that’s not enough for you, there’s always more custom options to choose from.
They even offer a new LED lighting system to go with the transparent engine cover, in case you really want to show off that V10, come day or night.
Of course the only thing we really care about is the rumored rear-wheel drive car. We know it has to appear soon, as Lamborghini made one already to go racing. Let’s just hope they also intend to produce more of it than its predecessor, the Gallardo 550-2.
