On Thursday we told you about thieves stealing a custom Mustang from a California retiree, and today we’re happy to report that the car has been returned, safe and sound.
The San Ramon Police department Tweeted the following picture after recovering the car:
The search warrant was served yesterday evening around 7:00, according to CBS San Francisco. The trailer was in a nearby storage yard with its decals removed. No one has been taken into custody, but the investigation is ongoing.
68-year-old Mike Chadwick was forced to leave the Mustang in a trailer parked near his home because his usual storage facility was closed for Labor Day Weekend. Thieves made off with Chadwick’s truck and the trailer containing his prize car. Chadwick believes thieves targeted him after he spent the weekend competing at Sonoma Raceway.
The find is especially important because Chadwick is planning on selling the car to help fund his retirement.
