Our minds have been trained to identify a common shape or design of what a car should be. In the past, automakers have played around with that idea. Here’s what they have come up with.
10.) Honda Puyo
The design behind the Honda Puyo seems to have been inspired by either a dumpster with a glass roof or maybe a soap bubble. On the bright side, it sure does look roomy!

9.) The Urbanina
The Urbanina is not only unique in looks, but also unique as a modular concept. It was designed so that the owner could switch out exteriors. If one day you want the bathtub look then another day you want the wicker basket look, you’re free to go about changing them as you please.

8.) Honda Fuya-Jo
With a name that apparently means ‘Sleepless City’ the Honda Fuya-Jo was developed with the hopes of keeping parties going all day and all night. Why don’t we have fleets of these roaming the streets yet?
Meh, I guess it would make it too easy for kids these days to “pop” those “molly” drugs and “bump” that so-called “EDM”? Who really needs that.

7.) Wienermobile
The Wienermobile looks like a hot dog. Cars are not supposed to look like hot dogs. Mind blown?

6.) Morgan 3-Wheeler
WWII war time looks and an unforgettable driving experience. The Morgan 3-Wheeler is a car lost in the ages, and that’s just alright.

5.) Dodge Tomahawk
Weird looking car right? Though the Tomahawk may have design characteristics that resemble those of a motorcycle, it has four wheels and carries an 8.3L SRT10 motor. And woah, those brakes...

4.) Renault Twizy
I have been lucky enough to see a couple of these in action, and let me tell you, they’re pretty great. Having these two person enclosed vehicular transporter things running the streets of Paris is a marvel. Maybe Nissan can figure out a way to badge engineer a version stateside? (Probably not.)

3.) Peel P50
The lines of the Peel P50 give off a smallish, upright hovering egg vibe, but hey! If it gets you from Point A to Point B right?

2.) Nissan Pivo Two
I love the Pivo, especially the Pivo Two, but its looks are surely not what I would expect when looking for a ‘car’. Also that moving head on the dashboard doesn’t help.

1.) Mazda Suitcase Car
The name says it all. Cars are not usually made in the shapes of suitcases (I think?). Because of one creative design genius at Mazda, with the Mazda Suitcase car, the common traveler no longer has to wait at the rental car counter. Just hit the baggage claim and split.
