A race car is worthless if it doesn’t win. Let’s pay tribute to the ones that destroy all the other ones on the grid.
That’s our question of the day: What’s the most successful race car of all time? It can be a purpose-built race car, or a street car that suited up for racing duty and took home a ton of glory.
I’ll nominate the E30 BMW M3, said to be the most successful touring car of all time. The original M3 was a homologation special so BMW could compete in touring car racing in the first place, less a fast coupe and more of a street-legal race car. It harks back to a time when M really meant Motorsports, and its scores of touring car championship titles prove how great it really was.
Your turn, what race cars trump all others?
