This 1965 Ford GT40 is a regular contender at the Goodwood Revival, and is said to be one of the most original cars in existence. It's next race will be at the Members' Meeting next month.
If it was one of the four remaining roadsters, it would be a $7 million car today, but since chassis number 1055 was supposedly taken to Le Mans in 1966 as a back-up car, it's still no ordinary ride despite lacking the period racing pedigree. Edsel Henry Ford II himself kept it in his collection and it stayed with the Fords for the next 25 years.
Gavin Henderson bought it in 2010 and instead of hiding it in a heated garage forever, he takes her racing regularly with his son Rory ever since. After all, England is full of challengers.
The important thing is when you drive a GT40 in normal mode (otherwise known as racing), please always make sure to keep your revs at 2,500rpm in second gear in the pits!
