Alfa Romeo USA has a new ad out for the Alfa Romeo 4C, and it gets straight to the point: fucking. It's all about fucking.
Oh, there's other stuff in the ad. Stuff like gorgeous shots of the curvaceous 4C as it barrels down a coastal road, or the sound of its raucous little four-cylinder engine, or how it can do zero to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds, and how it has all those immeasurable, emotional, spiritual qualities that make a car truly great.
There's also fucking. Lots of that.
You know, plenty of car ads go for sex appeal, whether it's done in a subtle way or a funny one, but with the 4C, Alfa's going straight for the jugular. Or the loins.
I guess there's two ways to look at this one: That driving the Alfa 4C is like making love to a beautiful woman, a woman with "the kind of beauty that drives men insane," as it says in the end; or the not-at-all-subtle implication that if you drive the 4C, you're gonna get laid, specifically with someone who is very attractive.
It goes for the direct approach. You kind of have to admire that.
