For sale: One "Disco Rock" 8-track tape. Also, the 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta that it comes with. One of those might just be slightly more valuable than the other one.
At RM Auctions' Amelia Island event in March, they'll be selling off a very unusual Ferrari coupe: a European-spec Daytona picked up in Italy in 1971 that has spent the last 25 years life collecting dust in a Toronto parking garage.
The Daytona is being offered for auction by its original owner, Patrick Sinn, who has just kind of been too busy to deal with the car since it went into the garage in 1989.
Rich people problems, I guess. Oh, who am I kidding! Who hasn't lost track of their Ferrari for three decades?
Sinn's lengthy story can be read at RM Auctions' site, but the point is that at age 77 he has decided it's time for the iconic Daytona to go to a new home. The car has been restored to more-or-less running condition and has just 56,000 miles on the clock.
Motor Trend says the car could fetch more than $600,000 at auction, but I wouldn't be surprised if it pulled more than that. Its lucky new owner gets that sleek body, a 352 horsepower 4.4-liter V12, a five-speed manual and, of course, "Disco Rock" on 8-track.
