The 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Actually Sounds Pretty Good

Turbocharged engines get such a bad rap in the sound department. They tend to be muffled and anonymous compared to their naturally aspirated counterparts; just listen to this seasons' F1 cars. But for the 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost, well... I think it sounds pretty good, actually.

Our friends over at Road & Track report Ford did a Q&A about the new Mustang at its development facility this week, which closed with some laps around their Dearborn test track.

Wouldn't you know someone shot video of the experience while riding in an automatic Mustang EcoBoost, giving us our first taste of how its 2.3-liter, 310 horsepower turbocharged four sounds.

And I think it sounds pretty good, to be honest. It's nice and throaty, with more character than I expected. I'd be perfectly happy if my car sounded this way.

But it's not as good as this: the 435 horsepower Mustang GT with the performance pack.

Yep. Nothing beats a good V8.
