Parents make a lot of sacrifices for their families. Often, it's a beloved car. For Dave, the money he saved to restore a 1973 Porsche 914 was just enough to cover a wedding.
Without the extra time and money to spend on fixing it up, the little Porsche sat at a garage and was eventually stripped for parts.
After many years had passed, his step-daughter Kristin went on the hunt for an identical car that wouldn't need a lot of time spent on restoration:
Backstory: my stepdad is awesome. My first memories of him are playing barbies with me and reading to me. He coached every softball team I was on and came to every Karate tournament. He never had to do any of that. He gave up this awesome car to spend the money on marrying my mom. I saved up some money from my deployment and have been trying to figure out for a few years how to deliver back to him the same car. In the end I just waited until I found and identical one in great condition and went to get it. I'm just happy I could do something nice for a guy who has always done absolutely anything he could for me.
I don't know about y'all, but it's feeling pretty dusty in here. I think my downstairs neighbor is cutting some onions. Like, he started an onion chopping factory or something down there. Yeah, an onion factory. That's it.
