Crazy Russian Bus Driver Stops On Broken Steam Pipe, Burns Passengers

A hot water pipe broke in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk. While most were smart enough to stay far from the gushing steam, a local bus driver thought his bus could deal with it. The result? 13 injured. Way to go.

The boiling water shot out of a manhole rising to a height of five stories. The bus driver tried to cross the geyser but the road caved in, and the steam filled up the bus in seconds.

Most passengers got burns on their hands and legs while reports say some children were taken to the hospital with third degree burns. The driver escaped through the broken windshield without opening the doors first.

His colleagues claim the doors stayed closed in hope of keeping the steam out, but with some in critical condition and the lucky ones 'only' in shock at the hospital, the driver is looking at two years in prison.
