Sad news to report out of Katy, Texas, where a local TV station was reporting on a flooded road and a snake trying to dodge traffic/kill tires. The snake was actually doing OK until it met a Chevy Malibu, which promptly attacked the snake. And it was all captured on video.

KTRK was really reporting on the rising Mayde Creek that forced the closure of a lane of traffic. But then a "water moccasin" snake made the news by blocking the other lane of traffic and snapping at the wheels of passing cars trying to dodge it.

The coverage didn't last long, though. Almost 3 minutes into the video, the anchor is watching cars trying to avoid it. A Ford Escape practically clips it, and then the Malibu finishes it off.

Seriously, why didn't anyone move it? It's only a venomous snake, guys.
