Roofs! They're completely overrated, in my humble opinion. I know, structural rigidity and keeping your head from getting struck by lightning, blah blah blah. Who cares. Seat doesn't, and that's why this concept for the Volkswagen Group's Wörthersee festival is totally on point.
VW's Spanish subsidiary will unveil the Seat Ibiza Cupster Concept as part of the big party in Austria next week. It's based on the Seat Ibiza Cupra and packs a 1.4-liter TSI turbo four with 180 horsepower coupled with a DSG transmission.
The Cupster, however, loses two seats and a roof and sits wider and lower than the Cupra. The front windscreen has also been replaced with a wrap-around strip window that looks pretty racy.
It's a neat little concept and should add to the fun times at Wörthersee. Expect to see it in production probably never, and in the U.S. definitely never.
