The McLaren F1 will always be one of my favorites. That could be because it was the pinnacle of performance when I was growing up, but I also love it because it's so analog compared to today's hypercars. And its naturally-aspirated V12 sings an angry song right up to the redline.
If you compare the BMW V12 to the twin-turbocharged hybrid V8 in its successor, the McLaren P1, it's a much more pure auditory experience. No whistling of turbines, no whine of electric motors. Just internal combustion.

Sure, this is the racing version of the venerable Macca, but that doesn't make the tune any less sweet. It's no surprise that not only are these cars still being driven hard, but now they're going for over ten million bucks.
