Robots are supposed to make our lives easier, not frighten us to the very core of our being.
If you want to see more of these automatons, but I don't know why you would, click the 'photo credit' links to see their complete, horrifying videos.
10.) Spider robot
It's simple math. Many people are afraid of spiders. It's called arachnophobia. Add a bit of Terminator into the mix (as Adam Savage's spiderbot does), and you have something even more scary.

9.) Compressorhead's drummer
Creepy or not, they play Ace of Spades better than my garage band.

8.) Automated boning systems
With butchers, there's a human touch. With these, the cutting process feels like a printed hamburger.

7.) Bionic Kangaroo
It's like the most advanced Lego Technic I've ever seen. Festo's kangaroo can also recover the energy exerted when jumping, and retrieve it for the next jump.

6.) MorpHex MK2 Superball
This hexapod robot is very clever and looks like a harmless toy, but all I see is a rolling, walking bomb for some reason. I blame the history books.

5.) MKV-L
The thing about the Missile Defense Agency's now-cancelled hover robot is that they called it the Multiple Kill Vehicle for a very good reason.

4.) Petman
Boston Dynamics has nothing on the Wayne Corporation, but they are getting there with robots like this, Petman. It was designed to test the performance of protective clothing designed for hazardous environments. Would've come handy in Fallout 3.

3.) Killer dildo robot
Don't ask, I have no idea, and I don't want to know.

2.) Gemonoid
The Japanese are getting there with those sexbots we were promised back in the eighties. If you think this Gemonoid Hi-1 doppelganger of its creator is creepy, check out the beta version.

1.) Big Dog
It's buzzing like a bee, but it's a giant robot dog that will come back from a hit like a T-800. This time, Boston Dynamics went further than Mr. Wayne.
