Would You Pay $3.4 Million For A Supercar That Sounds This Bad?

Dubai-based W Motors has built a supercar called the Lykan Hypersport that they claim is worth its $3.7 million price tag. After hearing it start up, I respectfully disagree.

To be clear, this isn't the Devel Sixteen, the other supercar from Dubai; that one appears to run entirely on bullshit. No, the Hypersport is powered by a 3.7-liter twin turbo flat six sourced from RUF, which they claim has 750 horsepower and can propel the car from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds.

Hey, I love a good RUF as much as the next guy, but for some reason after hearing the car in this video from WorldSupercars, I'm left feeling pretty underwhelmed. It certainly doesn't have the unique sound you get from a Bugatti Veyron, a Porsche 918 Spyder, a LaFerrari, or just about anything else you can get for less than $3.7 million.

Why the insane price tag, you ask? Diamonds. The LED headlamps are encrusted with more than 400 diamonds, which jacks up the cost considerably.

That's one way to make your car more premium, I guess.

Update: And here's a closer look from our pal Marchettino. Does it sound better or worse now?
