Bentley says that by the end of the decade, at least 90% of their production will be available as a plug-in hybrid, starting with the Bentley SUV in 2017. Their concept for it is all about copper and earth-twisting torque.
To showcase their technology (based on Audi's of course), Bentley came up with a concept for the Beijing Auto Show based on the flagship Mulsanne. While we don't know how much extra power does it has on top of the 6.75 V8's 505 horsepower and 752 lb-ft of torque, Bentley says the plug-in system will offer "a power increase of up to 25% together with a 70% reduction in CO2 emissions."
So you're saying almost 940 lb-ft of torque? Yes, please.
Unlike Peugeot's Beijing offering, Bentley's concept also comes with a lot of copper, including in the headlamps, radiator shell bezel, brake calipers, feature line details and badges of course.
The electric theme continues inside with inserts in the fascias, switch bezels and instruments, and copper cross‑stitchings all over the cabin. They also came up with a nice new wheel for it.
