GM announced this morning they're issuing three more recalls covering about 1.6 million vehicles, as part of CEO Mary Barra's request to "redouble" safety efforts following the big ignition recall already affecting 1.4 million cars.
Almost 1.2 million Buick Enclaves, Chevy Traverses, GMC Acadias and Saturn Outlooks made between 2008 and 2013 have been recalled for side airbags with a wiring issue that may prevent them from deploying in a crash if owners ignore the "Service Air Bag" light in the dash.
GM is also recalling 63,900 Cadillac XTSs that need a brake booster pump fix after two vehicles caught fire at dealerships. Pressure on a wiring harness can cause a plug to come out and cause overheating.
And 303,000 2009-2014 Chevy Express and GMC Savanna need "reworked instrument panel material" to meet federal safety requirements. There is a stop delivery order on unsold vans in dealer inventory until the problem is corrected.
