Luckily, the Tesla Model S won't need a nuclear reaction to reach 88 mph.
In case you haven't seen the movie or just forgot the numbers from the Flux capacitor's spec sheet, the Doc's electrical time machine needs 1.21 'jigawatts' of power, which it gets from a nuclear reaction produced by plutonium stolen from a group of Libyan terrorists. 1.6 million horsepower discharged for a moment makes time travel possible at 88 mph.

The Model S only has 270-310 kW of power and a capacity to hold 60-85 kWh, but with the Signature Performance model's 0-62 mph time of 4.2 seconds, which is sort of a different kind of time travel compared to the DeLorean.
