McLaren 12C Recalled Because Wipers Might Not Work If It's Wet Outside

McLaren owners who live in the southern part of the U.S. should listen. Think you'll be able to use your wipers if it's both damp and hot outside? Try again.

The NHTSA has issued a recall for 376 2012 through 2014 12Cs that live in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama Mississippi and Texas. This is what the agency says:

Due to a combination of high ambient temperatures and humidity, the wiper motor brushes may jam causing the wiper motor to stop working.

Is it really too much to ask for wipers that work when it's both raining and hot outside? In any case McLaren is going to fit a new wiper motor design to the cars affected in the recall. You know, one that's capable of understanding the weather in the South.

And that'll be one smart motor, because I don't even understand the weather down there.
