Amazon Wants To Deliver Stuff To You In Under 30 Minutes Using Drones

The big "surprise" from Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos on 60 Minutes tonight was that Amazon has been screwing around with octocopters that deliver goods in "under 30 minutes" from distribution centers to you front step... for when you really can't wait for Forza 5.

Hoping for video to show up soon, but the system is called Amazon PrimeAir and it's at least a "few years" away says Bezos, largely for legal reasons. That 30-minutes-or-less promise is also only for dense population centers where, one wonders, it's going to have a hard time arguing with a doorman.

Unless! You have a box on the roof where drones drop items. That's a cool future.
