This Is What A 400 Horsepower VW Golf Sounds Like

The 2015 Volkswagen Golf R has 290 horsepower. The 2015 Volkswagen Golf R 400 has 400 horsepower, and here's how it sounds.

We told you the Golf R 400 looked alarmingly production-ready, and Volkswagen totally agreed.

Unfortunately, while the concept had the gear knob of a six-speed manual, the production version will come with a DSG with the same all-wheel drive you find in the Golf R and electronic diff locks to keep you on the road. Let's hope the stability control can be killed, too. Still, with 400 horses from a 2.0-liter turbo, fun is pretty much guaranteed.

We don't know yet whether the 400 R will make it to America or not, but this car is the least VW could do for you after canceling the US GTD...
