A Swiss motorcyclist traveling through the countryside hoped to avoid a license suspension by slamming on the brakes as he approached a speed camera at over 68 mph. It worked... sort of. He was only traveling 66 mph when the device captured his body scraping across the asphalt.

Police think 38-year-old Boris Maier was aware of the driving ban that would follow if he was clocked doing over 68 mph in a 50 mph zone, and therefore "lost control as he tried to slow down."

When the camera did finally click his body — not the bike — was registered doing 66.49 mph. Meier only suffered a little road rash and a few bruises. The camera did catch his license plate so he was also fined.

Was it worth it, Boris?
