Professional controversialist and subpar pizza enthusiast Donald Trump's new Boeing 757 made its first trip to New York last night. Aside from the typical Trump-sized branding, there's a question of why Trump needs the same jet presidential candidates use.
As NYCAviation notes, the 757 is significantly larger than the 727 that had been Trump's prior wings. It's also the model of choice for presidential campaigns — Barack Obama flew one in 2008 — because it's speedy and spacious enough to carry dozens of staffers, reporters and supporters as they slowly drown in despair from multiple round trips between Ohio and Florida.
Trump reportedly picked up his 757 used from Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen for about $100 million. What better way to convince Americans that you're the person to ease the pain of a sputtering economy than by showing them you believe in recycling?
