This remarkable piece of color footage from 1927 London shows what traffic looked like, how it was controlled pre-stop-light, and leisurely drives through central London. Seeing the cars, trucks, buses and motorcycles in their own time is pretty amazing.
The silent but color film by Claude Friese-Greene is called "The Open Road London" and was the final episode in a European travelogue. As impressive as the existence of the film is by itself, the weird part is the traffic without lights and signs actually seems less chaotic compared to modern London.
