The French are readying an assault on the Audi TT with this 2+2 coupe derived from the 2007 Peugeot 308 RC Z Coupe Concept; spied here in production trim prior to an expected Frankfurt Motor Show unveil.
The French automaker seems to have faithfully reproduced the design of the concept, including the double-bubble rear roof and rear glass, while making sure that it fits within the Peugeot 308 range by utilizing the 308 hatchback's front clip including the larger-than-life front front grille and stretched, swept headlights.
It's obvious that Peugeot used the teutonic Audi TT as inspiration, but they've been spoon-feeding this model double doses of creatine to help with its muscular design attributes, but as with all chemical-induced muscle gain, there's bound to be something tiny lurking underneath its clothes. Expect to see a BMW and PSA co-developed 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder squeezing out around 200 to 220 HP via a six-speed manual gearbox when the Peugeot 308 RC Z hits European showrooms next year.
