Before anyone even heard the name "Tacoma," Toyota was selling excellent little pickup trucks here in the US. Rising to fame as Marty McFly's dream ride in Back To The Future, the 1980's Toyota Truck is still an absolute icon and this one is nothing short of showroom-perfect, with just 23,351 miles on the odometer.

Update: some lucky bloke just bought this beauty for a pittance of $13,000, or about half of what a comparably-equipped 2015 Tacoma would cost you today. And this of course, has more swagger than you could haul with an entire dealer's lot worth of modern Tacos.

The colors. The stripes. The interior... it all comes together for a perfect time machine straight to 1983.

Seller claims the truck's bone stock, rust-free, shows an authentic odometer reading, and has never even been put in 4WD. It truly is something spectacular to behold; which becomes apparent in the 69-photo slideshow that's on the eBay listing.

If you've ever been interested in the trucks of this era, you'll undoubtedly agree this might well be the most cherry example left on Earth. Even a non-truck fan has to appreciate the museum-level care with which this old "workhorse" has obviously been maintained.

Somewhat disappointingly, the ad doesn't offer much explanation as to how or why the vehicle managed to dodge the purposes for which it was created (work and off-roading) for thirty years... but I hope whoever picked it up takes just as good care of it at this point, because it's just to perfect not to preserve at this point.

Here are the best images from the ad, back up off your keyboard before scrolling down or you're gonna get drool all over it.
