WWII connoisseurs looking to add some old vehicles to their collection, rejoice: you can now nab a beautiful 1942 Jeep Willys on Craigslist if you’re up to making the trip down to the El Paso area.
This bad boy is restored from an original chassis, tub, and motor. The listing assures it has a clean title and could basically be brand new; it “turns on like a light switch”. That’s pretty impressive for any 70+ year old car.
The four-cylinder engine is absolutely spotless. Aside from some New Mexican dust, it looks like it’s been meticulously cared for over the years. The interior is true to history, and there are even added gas tanks strapped to the back and a shovel on the side to give you the full sense of realism and the entire range of functionality.
You have to wonder if this thing saw any action—it doesn’t look like it, but that could just be due to the magic restorative powers of whoever worked on this Willys. Although I hope the current owner has some neat stories of all the stuff that went down behind the wheel. If anything, it could definitely find its home on the set of a movie.
If I had the money, I know I’d be going down there to pick this up myself.
