A couple were attempting to steal gas from an Australian gas station when the driver panicked, drove off, and managed to throw his accomplice into the air with the tearing fuel line.
Gas nearly doused the woman, but she got up and ran to the car where her driver at least waited for her. They are made off on stolen plates and are still at large.
In Australia, you fill first and then pay later, so this theft was more like a dine-n-dash than anything else. News.com.au reports that "drive-offs" are a huge problem in the Logan District where the theft occurred. The gas station owner told the paper that a pre-pay system may be "not far off."
