Williams F1 Car Launched

Another F1 competitor has launched a car it hopes will help the team block the Ferrari juggernaut — or at least give it a podium finish or two. The BMW Williams F1 car, reported to be the lightest-ever F1 contender the team has ever built, debuted in Valencia, Spain today. Some of the weight savings was achieved by switching to a single-keel chassis design, from the heavier double-keel it ran in 2004. It's risky move, considering twin keels provide more downforce, and regulation changes in wing placement will further reduce downforce and stability. Still, team officials believe tweaks in other areas will make up the difference. Like we even know what the hell we're talking about here. [Thanks to Grandmaster DSS for the tip.]
