With horsepower increasing almost exponentially it's easy to forget there was a time when 100 HP was considered reasonable. What's your favorite sub-101 HP car?
We'll always have a soft spot in our hearts for the Suzuki Swfit GTi, which offered lots of performance for little change. WIth its 100 HP 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine it could, briefly, outrun a Porsche 944. Given its lack of weight and abundance of heart, the tiny hatch could also outcorner many serious contenders from Europe and Japan. It was a super sleeper and could also return 33 MPG highway. It may not be the most elegant car in history, but it's the kind of hot hatch most of us could actually afford.
