In the immediate post-nuclear age, horror film directors embraced the plot device of cars, trustworthy, workaday conveyances on which humanity has come to rely, attacking us on the highways on which we feel safest. What are their best attempts?
Filmmakers have used cars and trucks as killers in two ways: As a murderous automaton, or as the weapon of choice for a lunatic or serial killer, like in the 1979 TV movie, Death Car on the Highway (see trailer above).
