It doesn't take a genius to see an MGB and think "2JZ," but it does require a special kind of lunacy to look at a Toyota Supra and think "1.6-liter BMC." What's the all-time strangest engine swap you've seen?
Yeah, that's a fifth-generation Ford Mustang. And yeah, inside there is none other than an Aston Martin 6.0-liter V12. It sort of makes sense in that, at the time, the Mustang and Vanquish were both under the Ford umbrella. Fortunately, it ends there. Americans are famous for transplanting their bigass engines in small British cars, so we're a little uncomfortable with the inverse phenom. Why would you take the engine out of a wonderful and rare car so you could drop it into a cheap and disposable one? Oh, because you can? Fair enough.
