Think I could get a shoutout credit on the pic? My name is Kevin Tansey. I built that car starting with a $1500 roller with rod knock, parted out a cobra to put a 32v aluminum DOHC cobra drivetrain into it along with the Cobra IRS rear setup, front suspension, and brakes all around. Great car, new owner has since put a roll cage into it and supercharged it.

The market is overflowing with fun, sporty cars in the $20,000 to $30,000 range right now, but how much cheap, dirty speed can you get for just ten large?

If it were up to us and we needed to pin ourselves into our seats as cheaply as possible, we’d buy a 1990s Mustang for something around six or seven thousand and spend the difference on hot rodding the damn thing. We wouldn’t be the first to do it.

What’s the most speed you can find for $10K? Don’t forget to link to any eBay, or Craigslist posts you find. We even have a helpful guide for how to find the best used car listings in the country.
