Anyone can stick a beam axle and some springs on a car. But some automakers try things differently.
Citroën, for the longest time, ran hydropneumatic suspension on its cars. The system used air- and oil-filled spheres to regulate the car’s movements along a road. The effect is soft but controlled.
Here’s a little PR film from Citroen that explains things deeper. It’s in German, but the animations are great for anyone.
But that’s a pretty well-known system. Do you know an even weirder suspension setup put into production?
