What Car Should Be The Next Presidential Limo?

A stretched, armored Cadillac is fine and all, but what if we could add a little spice?

Is it time to scrap the Beast and replace it with something better?

After winning the U.S. election back in November, Elon Musk’s friend Donald Trump will be sworn in as the next president on January 20. When that happens, we’re sure to be treated to another four years of claims that Air Force One is the greatest plane in the world, Marine One is the greatest helicopter ever and the Beast is the best limo out there. But is it? And if you could pick any other car to be the next presidential limo, what would you go for?

That’s the question we want to unpack this weekend, what car should be the next presidential limo?

The job has been held by Cadillacs for years, with Bill Clinton kicking off a long line of custom Caddys with the 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood that he picked as his presidential state car. In the years since, a bespoke, custom-built Cadillac has served presidents Bush, Obama, Biden and Trump.

If you were to keep it Cadillac, would you give the president an armored Lyriq? Or if you drift further in the General Motors stable, then maybe a Suburban is the obvious choice as it’s already good enough for the swarms of secret service agents that follow the president wherever they go.

Maybe you think it’s time for the state car to modernize, and an armored Tesla should be called for - after all, Trump was supported through his campaign by company boss Elon Musk. Personally I think the presidential state car should really reflect the people who make up these great United States. It should be a car that’s proudly made by loyal American workers at a distinctly American factory. It should be something like the Honda Passport, obviously.

But what do you think the next presidential limo should be based on? Head to the comments section below to let us know your picks. We’ll round up some of the best responses once the “Home Alone 2” actor takes office, that way we can show him what he’s really missing.
