What Can Duct Tape Do For You?

"Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together." It's a truism that's actually true, especially for impromptu car maintenance. What can duct tape do for you?

To quote our own Sam Smith, duct tape...

...is amazing, fascinating, magical stuff. When Bill Caswell's $500 Craigslist rally car caught fire at a rally in Michigan, melting the harness into a pile of arcing copper and gooey plastic, we used it to patch the electrics back together in a darkened parking lot at four in the morning. I once rebuilt a rusted-out firewall — and made my gas pedal work again — on the side of I-55 using nothing but duct tape and a found highway reflector. A friend and I once reroofed a $200 Cadillac Fleetwood limousine with the stuff, and it was both watertight and good to 80 mph. There is nothing — nothing — it cannot do.

Well said. What's the best duct tape repair you've ventured or witnessed? Pictures appreciated.
