Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?
This weekend is the season finale for all of NASCAR’s top three series, with the Camping World Truck Series crowning Johnny Sauter as champion on Friday night. The Xfinity and Sprint Cup Series both have four competitors remaining after last week’s knockout round in Phoenix, and the highest finisher in each series’ race this weekend will win that respective title.
If you have some hunches on which drivers you think will win the respective titles—seeing as they don’t wreck, or do anything else involved with using a single race to decide the title between four people—we can all have a debate in the comments. Sound like a fun Saturday morning to you?
The FIA will have a free live stream of the Formula 3 World Cup and GT World Cup on its website this weekend, and the races will occur in the middle of the night if you’re anywhere near the Eastern Time Zone. The series will race the Macau Grand Prix, with the Formula 3 World Cup running a 15-lap race and the GT World Cup running 18 laps.
The power stage of the FIA World Rally Championship’s Kennards Hire Rally Australia will show on MAVTV on Saturday night if you have the channel. It’s the series’ last event of the season, and your last chance for the time being to see Volkswagen race over there. Over here, all bets are on Sébastien Ogier to let the manufacturer go out with a win.
It will also be the last race for the dominating Audi team in the FIA World Endurance Championship season finale, as they plan to head to the FIA Formula E Championship. The live stream via the series is paid, but Radio Le Mans will have a free stream as well. It appears television coverage will only be for the first hour of the event. If you can find anything else, please let us know.
If you know of any additional events or streams going on this weekend, please feel free to share in the comments below.
